 | | Brett Martin Building Products has completely redesigned its Soil and Rainwater system access fittings in both 110mm and 160mm diameters. A full range of 110mm fittings, pipe, bend and branch, plus 160mm access pipe, all provide a much easier and more effective method of closure for a completely watertight and airtight seal.
A twist and lock cap means installers can now close the fittings with a simple quarter turn. The removal of a threaded access cap connection to the housing of the main body means that ‘cross-threaded’ problems are completely eliminated. The 103mm opening allows full and easy access to the pipework system for testing and maintenance procedures while a new hand grip feature and locators on the insert provides user comfort.
Graham Smith, GB Sales Director of Brett Martin Building Products said: “It seems that the failure of the seal within the access assembly of many products on the market is all too common. This is generally due to the angle of the thread preventing even pressure on the plug insert. Brett Martin has eliminated this problem, as the quarter turn cap ensures equal sealing pressure around the seal.”
With a fully threaded housing there is the potential for cross-threading, making a positive air test extremely difficult to achieve. With fine plastic threads this can result in the pipe system needing to be dismantled to replace the entire fitting. Brett Martin’s fittings are impossible to cross-thread, removing this problematic element of installation.
Access fittings are available to suit all colours of both push-fit and solvent weld systems. The push-fit range consists of a 110mm single socket access pipe, a 110mm 92.5º single socket access bend, a 110mm 92.5º double socket access branch and a 160mm single socket access pipe.
For solvent weld fittings the range consists of a 110mm double socket access pipe, a 110mm 92.5º double socket access bend and a 110mm 92.5º triple socket access branch.
All Brett Martin’s Soil and Rainwater system access fittings are manufactured from PVC and Polypropylene components, making them durable and ultimately recyclable.
